Dry Media: Fixative | |
This
liquid is brushed or sprayed over drawings in dry media, especially charcoal
or chalk, which are easily rubbed or erased. While it is common today, when
even charcoal drawings are sometimes made for exhibition, it was less so
in the past. Nonetheless, drawings treated with fixative are found as early
as the sixteenth century.
